kumu exterior

Estonia’s new art center KUMU will open on 18th February 2006, The first time Estonia has had a proper home for its nations art. It was designed by the Finnish Architect Pekka Vapaavuori who won the competition in 1994 but work only started later in 2002. Although when WWII broke out they were about to build their museum then already, so its been a long time coming. 24,000 sqM and 42 million Euros worth.

update: I found this article about the Kumu which is also worth reading.
