After attending a lecture by Max Underwood of Arizona state university about Charles and Ray Eames I became a great fan of their work. I hadn’t realised had produced some of the first multimedia presentations, worked with IBM, and at World Fairs. Their films too have at their core a design sensibility taken to a logical progression see Power of Ten.Their Architecture is merely part of their body of work of spatial design, and I haven’t even mentioned their furniture and product design yet. I would have loved to have worked for them, been infected by their enthusiasm for everything, Max told us that Charles Eames would come to someones desk and only ever ask one thing ‘what’s interesting?’ Here is an online animation of something like Power of ten.
