Finnish Building Regulations to be Updated

The Finnish Building Regulations are going to be updated from 2012, the main thrust being improving energy efficiency. I believe that Finnish Regulations in this area are somewhat behind those of the rest of Scandinavia. I will see if I can get up to date examples it might make an interesting comparison. Anyway the stated aim is to conserve about 25% of current energy usage and this should go hand in hand with the governments new subsidy scheme which starts at the beginning of 2011 for houses to switch away from Oil heating to more environmentally friendly methods of heating and energy generation. This is especially interesting to me because we are just about to move house. Our new home is a 70′s oil guzzler and we will start to look at ways to make it more energy efficient, to save our wallets and the planet also.
